The other bonus to the Volt is its performance. The Volt’s hybrid system switches seamlessly between all-electric powered, all-gas powered, and a mixture that falls somewhere in between. If you’re just going around town, you can travel up to 53 miles without ever using a drop of gasoline. Chevrolet also expects that you may even be able to go up to 1,100 miles before having to hit the gas station as long as you’re re-charging regularly. The Volt can be charged in a couple of ways. The first is a standard recharging option, using the portable 120V charger that you can use anywhere you can plug it in, giving you a charging option on the go. A 240V charging unit installed at home will fully charge your Volt in about 4.5 hours, a faster option when you’re home for good. The Volt also uses regenerative braking to turn the energy of stopping into more battery power.

Of course, the Volt also runs on gas too. If you are on the highway and need to get up to speed, or if you are big on flooring the gas pedal for quick acceleration, the Volt will sense what you need and gradually switch from electric to gas power to give you exactly what you want while still using as little gas as possible.

The Chevrolet onboard wi-fi can connect with up to seven mobile devices, so you don’t use your phone’s data plan. This feature makes for a great commuter benefit, giving you the ability to work on the go or connect a computer without having to track down a Starbucks. The Chevrolet wi-fi works using On Star system, so you’ll need an active OnStar account and a CDMA cellular connection–essentially, you’ll add a data plan to your OnStar account to utilize this feature.

“Good” is both subjective and comparative. We can say, though, that Chevrolet has been around for more than 100 years and has a history of quality and reliability. Chevrolet also has a few things that no one else has. You can also add high-tech safety aids, like blind-spot monitoring, that detect danger to help you stay vigilant.

The 2018 Chevrolet Camaro defeats competitors like the Ford Mustang with its horsepower-heavy engine roster and strong tech lineup. The Mustang is a smidge less expensive, but by less than $400, and has its own sort of allure with a retro-focused design. If you’re looking for a design that speaks to power, athleticism, and attitude, the Camaro is the right choice–and it backs up its style with substance.

Instead of aluminum, they’re using a mixed-materials composite of aluminum, magnesium, and other metals. Buyers still get premium steel where it counts, but the tailgate, cab roof, and other parts are made of this mixed material. Either way you dice it, the Silverado is a lighter truck, meaning it’ll be more fuel efficient and feel a bit more powerful.

General Motors claims that the Silverado will offer better fuel economy than its competitors. In order to get best-in-class gas mileage, we’re probably looking at at least 30 highway miles per gallon. That’s good news for your wallet.

It’s not just the lighter metals that have improved the fuel efficiency of this goliath of a truck. The engine, which can disable cylinders when not needed, is responsible as well. In other words, an idle or cruising Silverado becomes a gasoline sipper while its competitors keep guzzling full-time.

The face of the Silverado is wide and mostly comprised of the grille, with high headlights. On the upper trims, that’s bona fide chrome on the grille, door handles, running boards, and more. If you don’t want your truck to look too flashy, opt for the two-tone chrome that dampens the glitz without compromising material quality.

You wouldn’t know it by looking at the face of this beast, but the Silverado is actually more aerodynamic than before thanks to front-end curtains that direct air around the front wheels and a spoiler in the rear of the cab.

The Silverado 3500HD is the biggest truck Chevy makes. It’s going to give you a hefty payload capacity, some serious towing, and a powerful engine, but the same might be said for any truck this size. The Silverado 3500 sets itself apart with a softer and more sophisticated side. It offers a firm, but surprisingly comfortable ride, whether on cloth or leather seating. It features state-of-the-art technology, including a very intuitive MyLink infotainment system, plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, 4G LTE connectivity, 3.5-inch multi-information display, Bluetooth connectivity, and wireless phone charging. Heated steering wheel and seats, Bose premium audio system, and spacious front seats give you the luxurious comforts you’re looking for.

You have your pick of gas or diesel, but be prepared for a little sticker shock with the diesel engine as it adds nearly $10,000 to the price of the truck. The Duramax diesel engine, which was revised in 2017, offers more power and torque than the gas engine but you will have to pony up to get it.

When you buy a Silverado 3500, you mean business–hauling business. The 3500HD has a payload capacity of just over 7,100 pounds. When properly equipped, it can tow up to 23,300 pounds.

A lift kit is used to mount larger tires on a vehicle, dramatically changing its look and driving dynamics. For a truck, that means a higher ground clearance, increasing the types of terrain it can safely drive on without damaging the vehicle’s underside.

There’s quite a market for lift kits designed for Chevy Silverado trucks, as a quick internet search will show. Check with local and state laws, since their legality varies from place to place.
