Check out these terrific events around Burlington and beyond:

July 4th Events Burlington NJ

Mercer County, just a short drive away, starts their 4th of July celebrations in June with the Mercer County Freedom Festival on June 28 at Mercer County Park in West Windsor. The day starts with a hot-rod car and truck show and then segues into a full-out festival with live bands, water rides, craft vendors, a children’s play area and lots and lots of great food. Of course, once the sun goes down, the skies will light up with a dazzling fireworks show that may be the end of this festival, but is just the beginning of your red, white and blue celebrations in your all-American Chevy.

Medford Township Independence Day Celebration

Thursday, July 3, 2014

Another way to make Independence Day stretch out over several days is to mark your calendar for July 3 and plan on going to Freedom Park in Medford Township. Freedom Park, also known as Medford Park, is at the corner of Jones Road and Old Marlton Pike, only a half hour from Burlington Chevy.

Put the kids in the truck and get there by 5 pm for the Kids Zone activities and fantastic fair food like cheesesteaks, funnel cakes, cotton candy and fried Oreos. It may not be stacked with nutrition, but man, it tastes good. Local musicians and area bands will take the stage around 6:30 and play until it’s time for the fireworks. Then at 9:15 pm the booming explosions begin, sure to be accompanied by oohs and aaahs and a few squeals.

Atlantic City Fireworks Spectacular

Driving to Atlantic City for fireworks may seem a little crazy, but in a comfortable Chevy Silverado with a fantastic space for literally tail-gating, it is well-worth a little road time. The 4th of July Fireworks show in Atlantic City is one of the largest in the country, featuring over 10,000 fireworks shells set up on two ocean barges and part of the marina. The show promises to be spectacular with a capital S.

Everything starts at 9:30 but to get a good viewing space, you may need to plan to make an afternoon of it. Throw some blankets and a cooler in the back of your new Chevy and you have got the perfect place to watch America blow out her candles.

No matter where you end up staring at the skies and waiting for the shimmering beauty, as a Burlington resident you have several awesome options for fireworks this 4th of July. And with a super car or truck from Chevy, getting there might be just half the fun.
